Ms. Motonaga is an accounting controls expert with experience running and managing projects involving the
implementation of varied IT systems, establishment of controls, processes, and procedures, creation of financial statements, establishment of accounting departments,
and creation and implementation of Sarbanes-Oxley controls. She has worked with such notable companies as Honeywell, Avery Dennison, and Kaiser Aluminum.
Ms. Motonaga has created projections and financial statements for merger and acquisition strategies and implementation, and provided due
diligence on business units,
business divisions, limited liability companies, and sole proprietorships. She has consulted with small business on payroll, taxes, and bookkeeping.
Ms. Motonaga has worked and/or consulted in various industries, including accounting, distribution, real estate, retail sales, and manufacturing for metals,
commodities, specialty products, automotive, and aerospace.

EXPERIENCE |
|
Ms. Motonaga began her career in 1989 in Sacramento, California, working for a small business owner in the real estate/title company field. In
1993, she joined one of the largest international manufacturing firms providing various types and levels of accounting support, including costing, financial
projections, control development, and due diligence. In 1997,
Ms. Motonaga joined a large and growing manufacturing firm where she converted their bookkeeping process
into a full financial process, including developing their financial statements, financial projection process, and implemented their first integrated accounting IT
system. Ms. Motonaga moved in 1999 to provide due diligence, financial and executive support to an underperforming unit of an international retail manufacturing firm.
In 2001, Ms. Motonaga became Controller of an externally reported division for an international metals company which was facing bankruptcy.
Ms. Motonaga managed the downsizing,
reporting, and due diligence associated with the Chapter 11 filing for the division in conjunction with the appointed bankruptcy financial and legal teams. During
this process, in 2004, Ms. Motonaga was promoted to be the
Corporate VP, Controller for all Operating Units. She spearheaded the details for the emergence accounting process,
the implementation of 2 separate IT systems, the implementation of Sarbanes-Oxley, and the monthly/yearly accounting processes.
In 2006, Ms. Motonaga created the KAAN Group to provide specialized accounting and consulting services that would leverage her knowledge, experience,
and attention to client satisfaction. |
